How to refer
Referring physicians are required to send a referral note plus the necessary bloodwork. If requesting a specific physician among the group, please indicate this on the referral.
Faxed referrals are preferred. Send faxes to the Pacific Nephrology Group at 604-681-4482.
Urgent cases are triaged for consultation. Non-urgent cases are booked according to the next available appointment.
Once the referral has been sent, the referring physician and the patient will be contacted within 48 hours and advised of the appointment time. Typically, the wait is approximately four to six weeks. If you are requesting consultation with a specific physician in the Pacific Nephrology Group, the wait may be longer.
The initial consultation will be one hour. Subsequent follow-up will be arranged by the Pacific Nephrology Group specialist. If the patient is referred to the Kidney Care Clinic at St. Paul’s Hospital, all further care will be provided at the clinic under the direction of the clinic physician.
